Alison specialises in property law with an emphasis on property issues arising from insolvent borrowers. She qualified as a solicitor in 2003, joined the firm in 2007 as an Associate in the Property Department and was promoted to Partner in 2012. Alison has significant experience in acting for developers, landlords, tenants and investors.  In recent years, much of her work has been based on insolvency related transactions with particular focus on receiver sales and lettings, mortgagee sales and portfolio reviews for banks and for NAMA.  In addition, Alison advises  NAMA and Bank appointed receivers and banks generally on property related issues arising with insolvent borrowers

Recent Experience

  • Acted in the sale of The Morrison Hotel, Dublin on the joint instructions of Martin V Ferris and NAMA.
  • Acted for several Receivers (bank and NAMA appointed) in the disposal of residential and commercial property portfolios of borrowers over whose assets they had been appointed.
  • Advised a Statutory Receiver to a large property group regarding completion of a development and units contracted pre-receivership. 
  • Advised new entrants to Irish market on the acquisition of a shopping centre in South Dublin.
  • Advised and acted for borrowers on bank led sales of distressed assets.
