A partner in the firm's Commercial Litigation department since 2005, Kieran has extensive experience in providing pre-dispute advisory services and advising and managing both formal litigation proceedings and various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Kieran regularly advices on matters before the Commercial Court and in the High Court. These matters have often involved large scale discovery processes which typically include electronic discovery processes and associated applications.

Key experience

  • Extensive experience in all types of corporate disputes including those arising from banking transactions, shareholder and boardroom disagreements, contract disputes and actions under the Companies Acts.
  • Experience in relation to all forms of property litigation and provides advice and assistance in related matters to the firm's property developers and related companies.
  • Involvement in a number of Plaintiff medical negligence claims. Also advises Health Boards, Hospitals and Doctors in relation to defending claims of medical negligence.
  • Experience of resolving disputes by Arbitration and by other means of Alternative Dispute Resolution such as Concilation and Mediation. Experience in these areas mainly relates to construction disputes and general corporate and commercial disagreements.
  • Also advised some of Ireland's largest retailers and producers on product liability issues and the international laws relating to same.
  • Advised and represented both individuals and companies at the Planning Tribunal, and also advised parties on how to deal with Tribunal enquiries.
  • Significant number of years experience advising several of Ireland's leading insurers in relation to the defence of large personal injury claims, now managing a number of substantial Plaintiff personal injury claims which include medical negligence claims.
