Michael Walsh - Partner
Michael joined the firm as a partner in 1999. He is a commercial property specialist although his interests extend also to banking and construction issues as much of his work in recent years has revolved around development. Michael has unrivalled recent experience in retail-focused development and has also acted in a number of high-end investment transactions. Michael has strong experience also in the property asset management and hotel management sectors. Michael has been a regular contributor over the last few years to the Law Society's Continuing Professional Development and Diploma programmes and is the co-author of the Law Society's "Complex Conveyancing" manual.
Key transaction experience
- Acting for Chartered Land in its pre-letting (2009) of what will become M&S’s flagship store in Ireland
- Acting for Chartered Land in its letting (2009) to H3G of its headquarter offices in One Clarendon Row, Dublin
- Acting as lead lawyer on the major Dundrum Town Centre project, incorporating Ireland's largest shopping centre (opened in 2005)
- Acting as lead lawyer on the Athlone Town Centre project, incorporating the largest shopping centre outside the Dublin region (opened 2007)
- Acting as lead lawyer on the Pavilions, Swords Phase 2 extension (opened 2007)
- Acting as lead lawyer in the mixed-use South King Street Centre development (opened 2008) including the sale of a 90% interest in the retail element for in excess of €100m
- Acting for the owners of Killeen Castle in its management contract with Starwood Hotels in relation to the Killeen Castle, County Meath.
