Peter Hogan is an Associate in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Department. He was educated in University College Dublin where he gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Politics (2002) and in Dublin Institute of Technology where he gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies (2003). Peter joined the firm as a trainee in 2004 and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 2007. Peter acts for a number of financial institutions and his main practice areas are in banking law and finance. Peter’s recent experience in these areas includes advising on tax based lending, secured and unsecured lending transactions, debt restructuring and workouts, debt recovery and enforcement strategies and the preparation of loans and security to be transferred to the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA).

Key Experience

  • Advised a group of corporate borrowers on negotiating restructured loan facilities and security with an Irish Bank.
  • Advised UK Bank on cross jurisdictional restructuring and enforcement action against prominent retailer and hotel and golf resort.
  • Advised UK Bank in restructuring tax based investment loan facilities and security in relation to a hotel and golf resort investment.
  • Advised an Irish Bank in debt restructuring and further lending to a large development company.
  • Advised an Irish Bank in relation to debt restructuring strategy involving a complex loan structure and investment in hospital operating company.
  • Advised an Irish Bank in relation to the complex debt restructuring of a large property development group.
  • Advised a number of Irish Banks on the preparation of loans and security to be transferred to NAMA.Qualifications
