Sandra Masterson-Power - Partner
Sandra has extensive experience in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, acting for both employer and employee in public and private sector organisations.
In contentious matters, Sandra advises and represents clients in judicial review actions, injunctions, actions for breach of contract, employer liability claims, personal injury actions for stress and bullying and breach of post-termination clauses before the High Court and Supreme Court. In addition, she represents clients before the Rights Commissioner service, the Labour Court, the Equality Tribunal and the Employment Appeals Tribunal in respect of claims brought under employment rights legislation. Sandra holds an MA in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from UCD and is a qualified mediator which is extremely beneficial to clients that she represents in mediation hearings and in advising clients in relation to the mediation process and potential benefits of mediation as an informal method of dispute resolution.
In non-contentious matters, Sandra’s workload ranges from drafting and reviewing employment contracts, company handbooks and policies and procedures, executive and employee severance packages, advising on all aspects of employment legislation, advising on issues relating to recruitment and termination of employment to include restrictive covenants, confidentiality, jurisdiction clauses, to advising on internal processes including disciplinary hearings, appeal hearings and bullying and harassment investigations.
