Key Experience

Morag is the key adviser within the team on the Children First Act, 2017 and has advised on a number of matters concerning that legislation cross-departmentally with the Corporate, Litigation and Employment Teams.

Morag has advised on and drafted child safeguarding statements and child protection policies for a number of educational facilities.

Morag has recently advised on child protection issues arising in the context of the remote learning environment within the Covid-19 restrictions.

Morag brought multiple adoption applications before the High Court in the height of the Covid-19 restrictions when the High Court was sitting for urgent matters only. This ensured that the children involved were adopted before reaching their age of majority thereby safeguarding their futures within the only families they had ever known.
