Licensing
Our licensing team is well placed to offer services in all areas of licensing law from pre-construction consultations on declaratory and certificate order applications for new or amended licences for both on and off sales, revival of lapsed intoxicating liquor licences, occasional licences, special exemption orders, annual licensing and advices generally on all practical aspects of licensing law.
In recent years, applications for new intoxicating liquor licences have declined and with this decline there has been a shift in focus. In particular insolvency practitioners are becoming increasingly involved in the licensing trade. This has lead to a large volume of applications by Receivers to preserve or renew licences in order to protect the value of the secured asset. Our licensing team advises Receivers and other insolvency practitioners on all aspects of licensing law and provides practical advice in connection with protecting the licences and as a consequence the value of the assets.
Discount retailers are on the increase in Ireland. We provide ongoing licensing advice to one of Ireland's leading discount retailers. Advice includes applying for new spirit beer and wine retailers off-licences for new stores together with extensions of existing stores at both declaratory and certificate stage nationwide.
Our licensing team also services a wide variety of clients in connection with their ongoing licensing requirements and applications, including annual licensing, lottery licences and special exemptions.
